Manufacturing Inquiry FAQ
Resolve the practical questions that come before a drawing-based quotation, sample approval or repeat component order.
What This Page Covers
Start with the Component
Identify whether your requirement is a CNC assembly part, a stamping die component or an injection mold component. That context helps the review begin with the right questions. Complete molds, stamped parts or plastic production are not implied by the component categories.
Find the Detailed Answer
Use the dedicated pages for material, tolerance, inspection and approval requirements. This FAQ covers the general inquiry and order discussion. Project-specific conditions belong in the agreed drawing, quotation and approval record.
Questions Before You Send A Drawing
01What is the minimum information for an initial inquiry?
Provide the component type, company contact and the question or scope you need reviewed. Add the available drawing, quantity and material requirements when requesting a quotation.
02Can I discuss a part before sharing confidential drawings?
Yes. Begin with a non-confidential scope description and identify the confidentiality requirements. Agree the appropriate document exchange before sharing restricted files.
03Can I submit several part numbers together?
Yes. Keep each drawing, revision, quantity and material requirement identifiable. A structured list helps prevent different parts from sharing an unintended quotation basis.
04Can you quote from a photo alone?
A photograph can start a scope discussion but may not establish dimensions, material or acceptance requirements. Additional information may be needed for a meaningful quotation.
05Are website examples standard items available from stock?
Treat them as drawing-based component examples unless a particular item is explicitly identified otherwise. Confirm your own supply requirements.
06Can I request a small quantity?
Submit the actual quantity and purpose. Feasibility, price and timing are reviewed for the part and included operations rather than promised by a universal minimum.
07What confirms the production specification?
Use the approved drawing revision and the agreed quotation or order scope, including material, finish and inspection requirements. Resolve outstanding questions before release.
08Does accepting a quotation approve a later drawing change?
No. Identify and review the change separately, then obtain an updated confirmation for the affected scope.
09Can a sample approval be reused for a changed repeat order?
Review the change and its effect on the approval basis. Material, geometry, finish or route differences may require additional checks.
10How are payment, delivery and problem-resolution terms agreed?
Use the terms stated in the issued quotation and order agreement. General website descriptions should not be treated as a substitute for those commercial conditions.
